So I signed up for the Joffrey’s Java Beta Test. I got confirmation from them and am now awaiting coffee
Thank you to Train Stopping for the tip.
If you haven’t heard, Joffrey’s is asking bloggers to beta-test their coffee. They say on their site that they are looking for people who are always beta-testing something and are fueled by coffee. That’s me! (and 801 other folks too according to their site).
Bloggers who sign up will get free coffee to sample and give feedback on AND a link to their blog on the Beta-Test site. You do have to provide them with a valid Blog URL when you sign up. What a great way to introduce their product to a very interested audience. I think it’s brilliant. I haven’t even gotten the coffee yet but am already blogging about them
Now if I could only find a chocolate beta-test…. do you hear me out there chocolate-makers??

Oh my goodness - I just “StumbledUpon” the coolest site, Unscrew America. Have you seen this? Well, go see it now. It’s all about how we can save money and the environment by using the right kinds of light bulbs. Sound boring? Well it isn’t. It’s very funny, informative and clever. Make sure you watch the kangaroo playing the Australian national anthem to celebrate them banning “bad bulbs”. So funny!
The site is all Flash and features really great art and even better writing. Wow!
(I suddenly feel like I should buy new lightbulbs for my house)

Well, there’s been a lot of talk on the interwebs about this “Photo Dropper” plug-in for WordPress so I thought I’d give it a whirl.
Basically, it’s a tool that will search Flickr for images that are licensed for use under Creative Commons.
After I installed Photo Dropper a search box appeared under my edit window in WordPress allowing me to search for usable photos and then select small, medium or large. It also has a link to the original post on Flickr so you can see the photo at full size rather than the thumbnails that appear after search.

This looks like it’s going to be a HUGE online event from Aral Balkan. 3 days of web experts all online, October 24-26th, 2008.
From what the site says, this will be really cool. I’m happy that it’s going to be a conference I can actually attend. I’m usually not able to get to industry stuff due to schedule and costs.
Aral has been coordinating some great presenters from the look of the site. There should be a lot of great information on a wide range of web-geek topics.
Just go check out the site and make sure you attend.
