Coldchair is a cop who also happens to be a folding chair. It’s a series that was created by my friend, Glenn, and his friends, Darren and John. In this clip Coldchair chases a bad guy on skis. It’s pretty hilarious.
(This original comedy is created by John Docimo, Glenn DiTommaso, and Darren LaCroix.
Also staring John Brindisi, Aaron Whipple and Jeff Brindisi)
Well, I just finished the speaking engagement at the SPC. It was…. OK, I guess.
Basically, my computer had a fistfight with the AV equipment and the result was that the screen resolution was all weird, things got rearranged and the video samples I had didn’t want to play back correctly. UGH.
I’ve had this happen once before and the only way to deal with it is to back away from what was planned and do something different. I guess it is “possible” for the techies to get things working but when you have a room full of people all waiting to hear something interesting and informative there is no time for a game of “lets figure out what it wants”. grrrrr….. technology…… foo.
I haven’t had that happen in a very long time so it was unexpected - and it threw me off. Way off… I ended up talking about my camera and why I picked it while I tried to re-group mentally.
Luckily, I pulled it together after a few minutes. The SoundSlides stuff worked OK and I was able to show Final Cut and iMovie and the some of the other things I wanted to show. I had wanted to show Flash, Fireworks and possibly Photoshop/After Effects too but didn’t want to make my computer die entirely.
So, it was a bit bumpy, frustrating and scary at first but I think I was able to give something that was helpful. That really was the goal all along.
Whew… what a day.
