Current Game Addictions

When I look for a fun game to play, I look for something that lets me relax. I’m not knocking the complicated games and systems like the ones that get game-geeks all excited. I’m just not what you’d call a “gamer”. I’m just a person looking for something fun and simple but challenging enough to keep me interested. I don’t want to conquer new worlds or pretend I’m in some sort of insane battle against trolls. I don’t like my games to have big story lines and mini-movies between levels. If I want all that I’ll watch a real movie. I don’t like games that have 50,000 buttons and controls and cheat codes. I just want to have some simple fun. If you are the hardcore gamer type, you probably won’t like my game recommendations. Sorry about that. That being said, here are my (current) favorite games.

Fizzball
My daughter and I are both having a lot of fun with this game right now. It’s cute, simple to learn and addictive. It’s a bit like the old super breakout game but with a twist. Not only do you break stuff with your ball (actually, it’s a bubble called a Fizzball), but you capture and rescue animals with the Fizzball. There are also all sorts of fun power-boosts to catch and use. It starts out pretty easy but then does get increasingly difficult. The game site says there are 180 levels so it will keep us busy for awhile. I also like that there is a kid level. It keeps the game fun while the kids learn to play. My daughter is very computer savvy so she was on to the adult version pretty quickly.

Peggle
This one seems to have a lot of people addicted right now. I’ve seen a bunch of reviews calling this one “the most addictive computer game - ever”. I don’t know about “ever” but I would have to say it’s in the top five. I’ve managed to beat all the regular levels of play and am into the third batch of master levels - I think I need help. This is another game that is simple to learn and fun to play. It’s good for kids and adults. Go check it out if you don’t mind becoming completely addicted to a game.
