These people had exactly the right idea. This was Oct. 21. What a beautiful, perfect day.
I’m getting a little jealous just looking at it
The folks at Worcesterlove.com put together a great video to get us in the mood for Halloween.
It was shot at the Halloween Outlet in Worcester, the best Halloween store ever (OK, that’s my opinion there - but it’s really cool!). Seriously, if they don’t have what you want, they can help you find it or you didn’t need it in the first place.
Oh, the video has some scary stuff - so does the store. At the Outlet, they have a special kids store with separate entrance for the little ones. The video doesn’t have a special entrance. If you get scared easily, don’t watch it. Ya know, Halloween is supposed to be scary. What would you doing reading a post about Halloween if you get scared that easily? You should go read this instead. For the rest of you, hit play and have fun!
Monday was ‘Blog Action Day’. If you missed it, bloggers around the world agreed to blog about the environment on the 15th of October. About 20,000 blogs participated according to the Blog Action Day site. I participated too by posting a special video blog.
I had a lot of fun checking out what some of the other 20,000-ish bloggers had to say. The posts ranged from simple tips to live greener to philosophical statements. As you can imagine with that many blogs and a broad topic like ‘the environment’; there were a lot great things to read and think about. Google “blog action day” and you’ll see.
I’m not the only Worcester-based blogger that got into it. Wormtown Taxi and Topher the Tech Guy also posted their thoughts. If you are a Worcester blogger and I didn’t find your entry yet, send me a link.
Wormtown Taxi had a well-done post about how we should focus on reducing the amount of burning we do to keep our stuff running. He explains it much better than I can so go read it. Long story short - we need to stop fighting over what we are burning and work on ways to stop burning stuff entirely. He also shared support for our vlog here. Thank you WT! That was really nice of you.
Topher the Tech Guy had some great tips to help everyone live a little greener and in the case of his “rake” tip - even be a little healthier in the process. Then he posted a video that made me laugh a lot: watch it if you’d like to laugh too. Topher also sent me some nice comments and support - also much appreciated, Thank you Topher.
As an internet geek this whole project has been really cool to watch and be part of. I can’t believe how many blogs signed up, many of which posted more than once on the topic. Big corporate blogs participated along with the rest of us “little people” and the event got a lot of coverage in the media. Go to the Blog Action Day site to see their wrap up. You can also sign up to be notified when the next world-wide blog action day event is approaching.
Sarah wanted everyone to know that she hopes we all stop polluting everything before the world is too messed up to fix. This is our “vlog” for Blog Action Day.
